The bird's eye view overlooking rooftops in a district in Edo shows Tanabata Festivities. The tall branches of bamboo are decorated with colorful pieces of paper. Written on them are hopes and wishes for the upcoming year. The silhouette of Mt. Fuji accompanies these brilliant decorations. According to legend, two deities in love were only allowed to meet once a year on this day, July seventh.
